What’s ‘Black TikTok Strike’? Creators ask for credit score over dance movies and content material
The hashtag “Black TikTok Strike” is enjoying increasing popularity on the platform. Several YouTubers have joined the trend to ensure that their content and dance videos are credited to the YouTubers.
It did so two months after Addison Rae’s segment on Jimmy Fallon attracted backlash for failing to pay tribute to the creators behind viral TikTok dance trends. Although Jimmy tried to correct his mistakes, it looks like some content creators are still unhappy with the situation on the platform. That’s why they decided to take matters into their own hands.
What is “Black TikTok Strike”?
The hashtag “Black TikTok Strike” or simply “TikTok Strike” is used by black content creators who are demanding that their content be recognized and their talent recognized.
Because of this, none of the creators are choreographing a new dance trend. It all goes back to Addison’s appearance on Jimmy Fallon. Addison was called in after showcasing some of TikTok’s most popular dance trends. People slammed the segment because it didn’t do justice to the black content creators who were behind the choreography.

Even months after the incident, the creators feel that nothing has changed. For this reason, they launched the “Black TikTok Strike” trend. In the video, the creators sit still while the sound of “Victoria Story” is played in the background.
In the audio it says: “I think it is high time we let black women become famous with the bare essentials in this app. As if I should be able to just sit here in silence and let you all look at me and next I have a million followers. “

Researched Addison Rae’s appearance on Jimmy Fallon
Addison appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s show on March 26th. As a result, Addison listed some of the popular trends. Within minutes, the show and Addison were called upon not to mention the true creators.
After the backlash, Jimmy decided to reverse the mistake and invited all of the TikTok creators who were the real brains behind the dance trends. He gave each of them the platform to show off their dance moves.
