“Innovations and Creativity”

It is the first year that the category has received the award intended to recognize social media developers. Other categories recognize top movies, television series, and social justice leaders.

‘Over the years, social media has developed largely due to the innovation and creativity of people of color. We’re excited to expand our categories to honor the content creators who keep us entertained and updated, ”said Karen Boykin Towns, of the National Board of Directors of the NAACP Image Awards.
