Try G Flip’s remix of ‘Queen’ for Mardi Gras on TikTok

G Flip shared an exclusive remix of their single with mxmtoon, ‘Queen’, on TikTok before the redesigned track is released later this week.

The remix version of ‘Queen’ was kindly provided by producer Touch Sensitive, who gave the song a dance floor-ready makeover with added synthesizers and a sturdy bass line. The sneak peek at the track on TikTok is brief but gives fans a taste of what’s to come when the full single comes out on Friday (February 12th).

As part of a partnership with Mardi Gras and TikTok Australia, choreography by dancer Leah Howard has also been released, encouraging users to create content using the sound. TikTok stars and Mardi Gras ambassadors Mitchell Coombs, Kevin In The City, Meissa Mason and others have picked up on the trend and shared videos of themselves dancing to the remix ‘Queen’ with the hashtag #JoinOurFloat.

It arrives in the lead up to next month’s Mardi Gras event, with G Flip being announced to star in this year’s TikTok Australia Float at the LGBTQIA + celebration.

In an interview with NME earlier this year, G Flip – real name Georgia Flipo – talked about dealing with her sexuality.

“I didn’t get out in high school because I was afraid I would be ostracized or called ‘the gay girl’,” she said.

“When I was with a girl for the first time, it was one of the best feelings of my life. I knew exactly who I am now. Your sexuality is such a big part of your life. And as soon as I got that straight, I said, “Oh my god, I feel so good.”

The multi-instrumentalist shared a ton of new music in 2020, including the deluxe edition of her debut album ‘About Us’. This was followed by the singles ‘Hyperfine’, ‘I’d rather go to bed’ and the LGBTQIA + anthem ‘You And I’ and ‘Loose Ends’ with Illy.
