TikTok Provides New App Login and Audio Integration Choices to its Developer Instruments
TikTok is expanding its developer platform with a few new elements that offer more options for integrating TikTok into third-party app experiences, and vice versa.
According to TikTok:
“We’re excited to announce today the new TikTok sound and login kits, which enable third-party apps to create smoother sharing and authentication experiences for their users. The software development kits (SDKs) are now for mobile devices and the web available and console applications worldwide. “
The first new option is the Sound Kit, which allows developers to import original sounds and music into the TikTok ecosystem through third-party apps.
“Audio is an integral part of the TikTok experience and offers endless opportunities for collaboration and inspiration within the community. With the Sound Kit, we want to help developers reach new fans on TikTok and share their original sounds even better.”
The new process makes it easier to export from a number of audio apps, including AudioBridge, LANDR, Rapchat and Yourdio.
This could open up more opportunities for developers to share their original content with the growing TikTok audience. TikTok has strict rules for the use of audio content. However, this integration will make it possible to enable a wider range of audio options by sharing copyright responsibility with the original platforms.
TikTok now also offers a new login kit that enables this Users sign in to third-party apps with their TikTok credentials.
TikTok says a number of Apps have already integrated their login kit into their platforms and offer a direct connection between the individual apps, which also optimizes the transfer of content to and from TikTok.
This also means more data collection for TikTok, which can also collect more information about the associated app usage via its login kit. When users allow in-app data tracking (on iOS), they can see elements of user activity.
It could be a handy addition for developers to enhance their own data collection and integration efforts while making it easier for users to interact with their apps.
Despite the rapid rise, TikTok is still in a very early stage of development. Therefore, such supplements are currently being developed that are relatively common in other social apps. TikTok continues to work on expanding the overall product offering and expanding the options.
As such, these are important developments for the app, and as it continues to grow, they also offer more functionality and options for more development partners who want to take advantage of the tool’s popularity.
