TikTok hilariously summarizes what it is like going exterior within the Texas warmth

Between ERCOT urging residents to save energy and the Alamo City preparing for the first time ever to celebrate a summer fiesta, the scorching heat is a talking point across the state.

One of these Texans portrayed exactly what it’s like to go outside – and instantly regret it.

Last week, TikTok user @nodripdon_, who names Dono on the website, shared a video with the premise that he is leaving the house. With “POV: u live in texas” to the video, the camera shows Dono opening the front door – then the color changes and the image is delayed, as if you had a bad trip – while an echoing yowl can be heard (when you re open TikTok, you’ve probably heard it before).

The same thing happens when Dono opens and closes the car door, puts his hand on the steering wheel and grabs his seat belt again, unfortunately touching the metal buckle. This is a pain that Texans can all understand.

Dono’s video has managed to get more than 1.1 million views and has inspired many other Texans to join the trend.

Even for those who didn’t recreate the video, thousands of TikTok users jumped in on Dono’s post over the summer with their own relatable pieces of Texan life.

“No, but when you open the car door and blow hot air in your face,” @melindaddy emphasizes.

“It’s not that bad, but only 104,” @ evan.hopkins jokes (I hope).

“Especially leather seats,” says @ andre_465.

“It was so damp that I got out of the car and my glasses were fogged up,” reports @ _simp_wax_32.

While we can all laugh at our shared experience, let’s face it, what that means: Texans are fucking tough, thank you very much.
