If you do this, enough people will start thinking, “Wow, they always comment on purpose.” That means doing more than just leaving a thumb-up emoji on a series of posts. Think about how your signature comment style can add to the entertainment.
Next, you can get more followers by engaging with complementary accounts. These are Instagram ™ accounts that fit your niche and target a similar audience. It’s not just about getting your followers’ attention.
For example, Cyrissa was one of my high-ranking coaching clients. She is a photographer, marketer and sells hair products. One of the things that makes Cyrissa stand out in each of her industry niches is that she uses lowercase letters to comment. Now it’s her signature style on Instagram ™.
Another of my clients, Renee, uses a megaphone emoji when commenting to incorporate her Megaphone Functional Health company name.
Now we come to emojis. I mentioned in this blog post that you can use emojis as part of your Brand strategy. Let’s dig a little deeper.
To get the most impact, I suggest finding 2-3 emojis that best represent your brand. For example, if you’re an artist, you can use the emoji on the color palette. If you’re a personal trainer, you might use a muscle emoji and gold medal.
Another way to create a signature style is to use a word or phrase. I have a couple of things that I use all the time like “GSD” (Get Shit Done) and “Wicked Smaht”. I use it so much that I swear people can actually hear me when they see my comments.
When you use a signature set, people get to know the real person behind your avatar. Over time, these can form deeper connections that lead to loyal customers. Long-term success on Instagram ™ is more than selling it right now.
Next, you can get more followers by leaving long, stylized Instagram ™ comments. I’ll be the first to admit I love emojis and a quick, cute comment. But there are times when a longer comment is a better choice.
This is especially true when trying to stimulate a conversation or keep it going. It is difficult, if not impossible, to respond to emojis. If the conversation continues, you can even get into that Instagram Direct trade fair opponents.
You don’t have to write a novel. You just want to say enough where people see a way to react.
Finally, try to join an existing Instagram ™ comment thread. When you join an ongoing conversation, open yourself to other accounts to interact. Even a simple emoji is an easy way to get involved.
If you join an existing comment thread, the main account will receive a notification. This often leads to someone coming to your Instagram ™ account to verify you. It’s a win-win situation.
