Meta launched its Creator Fast Track program in early 2024 to prioritize Reels on Instagram and Facebook, aiming to attract established TikTok and YouTube creators, company officials said. The initiative sought to boost short-form video content on Meta’s platforms by offering incentives and streamlined support to high-profile influencers, sources confirmed.

The Creator Fast Track program, which Meta introduced in January 2024, offers selected creators enhanced monetization options, early access to new features, and dedicated support teams to accelerate their growth on Instagram and Facebook Reels, company officials said. The program is designed to compete directly with TikTok and YouTube by attracting influencers who have already built substantial followings on those platforms, according to sources familiar with Meta’s strategy. Participants in the program receive tailored guidance on content optimization and priority placement in Reels feeds, aiming to increase visibility and engagement.

In a February 2024 interview, Mosseri noted that Reels accounted for over 20% of Instagram’s total daily engagement, underscoring the platform’s shift toward short-form video content.

Meta executives, including Instagram head Adam Mosseri, have publicly emphasized the company’s commitment to expanding Reels as a core format. Internal documents reviewed by industry analysts show that Meta has allocated significant resources toward incentivizing creators to produce Reels, including bonus payments tied to video performance metrics such as views and shares.

The program’s launch follows Meta’s broader push to capture market share in the short-form video space, which has been dominated by TikTok since its global rise in 2018 and YouTube Shorts since 2020. Meta’s Q1 2024 earnings report highlighted Reels as a key driver of user engagement growth, with average daily time spent on Reels increasing by 15% compared to the previous quarter, according to financial disclosures. The company has also expanded its advertising offerings within Reels, enabling brands to reach audiences through immersive, vertical video ads, as detailed in a March 2024 Meta marketing briefing.

Sources confirmed that Meta’s recruitment efforts through Creator Fast Track include outreach to creators with follower counts exceeding 500,000 on TikTok and YouTube, offering them financial incentives and platform support to transition or diversify their content on Instagram and Facebook. While exact enrollment numbers have not been publicly released, industry observers estimate that several hundred creators have joined the program since its inception. Meta officials declined to provide specific participation figures but confirmed that the program remains selective and focused on high-impact creators.

Analysts tracking social media trends note that Meta’s approach reflects a broader industry shift toward short-form video formats, with Reels now constituting a growing percentage of content consumption across Meta’s family of apps. This aligns with Meta’s strategic goal to increase ad revenue through formats favored by younger demographics, who are more likely to engage with brief, dynamic videos. The company has also introduced new creator tools, such as enhanced editing features and analytics dashboards, to support content production and performance tracking, according to product updates released in February 2024.

Meta’s efforts to attract TikTok and YouTube creators come amid increasing competition for influencer talent and advertising dollars. TikTok reported in its Q4 2023 earnings a global user base exceeding 1.2 billion monthly active users, while YouTube Shorts surpassed 50 billion daily views worldwide in early 2024, according to data from market research firms. Meta’s pivot to prioritize Reels through initiatives like Creator Fast Track represents a strategic attempt to reclaim engagement and creator loyalty within this competitive landscape.

The company continues to refine the program based on creator feedback and platform performance metrics, with plans to expand incentives and feature access in the coming months, officials said. Meta’s broader content strategy remains focused on integrating Reels more deeply across Instagram and Facebook, aiming to create a seamless, engaging experience that appeals to both creators and audiences. The success of this approach will likely influence Meta’s positioning in the evolving short-form video market throughout 2024 and beyond.

Are you tired of the hassle of getting camera-ready for every Reel you post? Well, today’s your lucky day because we’re diving into the world of creating Instagram Reels without getting on camera, using the voiceover feature!

Wish you could post a Reel without spending all the time and energy it takes to get mentally and physically “camera-ready”? Using the voiceover feature can help you create relevant and valuable posts in a pinch.

Let’s dive into an example of posts we’ve done that are using the voiceover.

Click above to watch this reel.

Notice how we’re using a collection of videos where we’re not talking directly to the camera. This feature can be used by both product and service-based businesses.

Ideas This Will Work For Your Business

Now, let’s explore some ideas that may work for your business with voiceover: You could use it to explain a process, show a day in the life, share your experience, give motivation, explain a misconception about your industry, or provide a business update.

The opportunities are endless! And remember, you can “build a bridge” between what is being shown in the video and what is being said in the voiceover.

So how do you go about creating something like this? We are going to walk you through it!

Step By Step Voiceover Walk Thru

Select a video on your camera that can represent or relate to your business in some way. Consider the intention of your business. What value are you providing to the future viewer? The Intention can be entertainment, inspiration, or education.

Once you decide on the video footage you’re going to use, you can go ahead and click the plus icon on your screen and tap Reel.

Click your photo library on the bottom left of your screen to select the video or video clips that you’ve decided on.

This is where you can trim any of the clips if needed. You can make these kinds of reels short and sweet, or longer depending on your intention.

After trimming (if needed) and clicking Next, select “Edit video” in the bottom left of your screen.

This opens up the video edit screen where you can once again trim your video, add audio, control the volume – and much more. Instagram keeps adding features to Reel editing so definitely look around.

Scroll to the right of the icons at the bottom of the screen until you see Voiceover. Tap it, and use the white button to record your voiceover. It will count down from 3 for you. Make sure you are starting at the beginning of your video (or wherever you want your voice to come in.) Notice how long your video is and make sure you can say everything you plan to say within that time.

You can play back your recording and redo it if needed. Just click the play button to hear how it sounds, and discard it if you want to start over. Make sure if starting the recording over you move the white bar to the beginning of the video to indicate where you want your recording to start playing.

Another PRO tip is to select Volume from the bottom icon screen (right next to the Voiceover icon). This controls the different sounds on your Reel. You can have multiple sounds playing at once, or you can turn your camera audio down so the voiceover is easily heard.

Once you’re happy with your recorded voiceover click Done, and you’ll need to determine your hook and use the text tool to add it. The hook is the first bit of text the audience will see and determines if they’ll want to stick around and watch the video, so it’s super important to include!

Text Tool(arrow)

And if your voiceover is different or includes more than the hook, don’t forget to add captions! A lot of Instagram users watch reels on silent, so you need captions to make sure they stick around for your entire video.

Sticker icon to find captions

Auto captions

Next up is your typical Reel requirements – edit the cover photo – select profile grid where you can decide how your video and hook look in your grid. Then tag people or locations, add a description, and you’re ready to post!

Next Steps

As we said before, the possibilities for this Reel idea are endless. It requires a bit of creativity and practice, but we believe that this is a great option for mixing up your content. It also gives you a different option than always being on camera, speaking to the camera.

Click to watch this Reel

And we’ll be honest, the birthday hats one took us a long time to get right. So many clips! It takes practice to make this feature feel easy. But the outcome is so fun and worth it.

How To Use The Align Feature For Reels

First, open Instagram and create a new Reel. Record your first clip and note where you end the first clip is where you’ll start the second clip but with something changed – like a new outfit, a hat, a coffee mug – maybe a completely new background like you take the first clip inside and the second clip out in the sun…

When you’re ready to start your next clip, you’ll see the Align button is showing up now that you already have a clip recorded. You will have to click on the down arrow to expand the different features on the left side of your Reel.

Once you tap on the Align button, you’ll notice a shadow screen that looks distorted. Don’t worry, this is where the magic happens! The shadow screen helps you line yourself up with where you ended in your first clip.

This ensures that you have smooth transitions between your clips and avoids any weird glitchy cuts that can disrupt the flow of your video. It’s a game-changer for creating professional-looking content on Instagram!

So remember anything creative does take time, and it does take practice.

Click the next button to watch your aligned transition in action, or click the back button to try again!

Next Steps and Free Resource

Ever feel like Reels are taking up way too much of your time? Or that you’re in the weeds every week trying to come up with posts? We’ve got your back with a simple process that’s not just a time-saver but also cranks up the quality of your content.

Reels are like your secret weapon for growing your business. Reels have great placement on the app, and often have more reach than your regular posts or stories. Today, we’re getting into the nitty-gritty of building a process, specifically for creating Reels for your business.

Getting clear on what your commitment is to Instagram and making a few key decisions about your posting schedule can pay off big time.

As a business owner who has so many roles in your business, without concretely defining what you have to create on social media, you’ll probably end up feeling like you are caught on the social media hamster wheel. Let’s dive into the 3 questions you need to answer to get started on setting up a Reel process.

The First Question to Ask Yourself

With clients in our PRO program and on our training, we always kick this off with this first question – How many Reels can you realistically do each week?

First, your current bandwidth. Assess your resources. Consistency is key in social media, so it’s important to commit to a schedule that you can realistically manage. It’s better to post fewer times a week and show up reliably than to post and then ghost.

It’s crucial to maintain a balance between the quality and quantity of posts. High-quality, relevant content is more likely to engage your audience than a large quantity of low-quality posts Now, this doesn’t mean that high production is required for high quality…or that every post should take you hours to create.

Finally, know that you will eventually want to plan for a variety of content types and themes (educational, promotional, engaging) to keep your audience interested and engaged. There are different types of Reels, AND Reels will probably not be the only posts you are creating. So when determining what you commit to it’s important to consider how much effort or how comfortable you are with the steps.

Exactly, Often time with clients in our PRO program, we suggest you start with posting just 3x a week if you are brand new to Instagram. If you have more experience on Instagram and have the bandwidth to create more, great! But when you are learning the mechanics and a new process, the important thing is to START. Go ahead and put in the comments below the number of posts you are going to start with? 2, 3, 4 – I want to see you declare your plan!

    Image Popup Example

Question 2: Committing to a Posting Schedule

What days are you posting? Maybe it’s twice a week, like Mondays and Wednesdays, so you can handle comments and engage with your audience. Choose days that work for you, and don’t forget to share those Reels to your stories.

This is important because you are probably doing a lot of different things in your business…so you control what days make most sense for you.

We’ve found with our clients who didn’t grow up on social media, that it is best to first decide what schedule is going to work for you. There is so much to learn when you are first trying to understand what to post and how to post and so if we also overcomplicate things, it can often mean you end up quitting before you even start to see results.

That is why making this commitment reasonable at first is the most important thing…especially if you are just starting out. You can always increase your posting frequency when you are acing it!

Question 3: What types of Reels will you make?

There are SO MANY OPTIONS on how to create on Instagram, picking and sticking to something can help decrease decision fatigue.

We split Reels into two different types for our students. Reels with Original audio, like talking to the camera, and “Reality reels” with Instagram Audio. If you watch us on youtube (link at the top) we show a couple different Reels with the types to help clarify.

An account can get a good amount of traction by starting with these two formats.

You can mix it up—to present your business in different ways to attract viewers. But deciding briefly on a format can help you get posting faster. If these types are new to you, we’ve got a whole video on Instagram audio dropping soon, so stay tuned!

Once your schedule is set—how many posts, what days, and what type of format—then you are more clear and more organized when you post. You’ll be able to batch these posts, and make more than one at a time to work smarter.

Next Steps

Putting together a process that works for you is so important. It will help tremendously with showing up each week, growing those followers and buyers from Instagram. And to do that, your posting plan has to fit into your life and make sense to you!

That’s just the start – if you’re eager to explore more ways to get customers from Instagram in just a few hours per week, check out our free training!

I have a feeling if you’re here, you are a business owner feeling the drain from spending a lot of your precious time creating Reels. Well if you are frustrated that you are posting and still hearing crickets…this blog post is your lifeline.

Now, if you’re frustrated, know that you’re not alone. Mastering Reels takes some practice, but I know you are capable – no matter your tech or social media experience. And the change you need might be more simple than you think.

Mistake We See Online Business Owners Make

So I’d like to just cut to the chase here. And this might be a harsh truth. BUT, a main mistake we see, that a lot of well-meaning business owners make, is talking too much about yourself, which causes Reels to miss out on the views they deserve.

It sometimes feels like- to sell our products, our service, our time…. We have to talk about ourselves. And while yes, we should at times, your posts should speak about your ideal buyer to be found by them on Instagram.

There are times to be vulnerable and share things about yourself and your business to better connect with your audience! We aren’t saying to take ALL of that away.

But if your account intends to get sales, you want to call out your viewer. How they identify, What THEIR problems are, and THEIR desires. And how YOU can offer a solution to those problems and desires.

Simple Audit for Your Instagram Account

We have a quick check for you.

Look through your last 9 posts. Count how many times you use the words, “I, me, my, myself”. Take note if it’s showing up in your hooks, in your descriptions, and in your Reel scripts.

Then count how many times you mention your audience. If there is more “me” than “them”, shift the focus and address your audience’s problems and desires.

Notice how all of our hooks are about our audience, and not about us!
“You” and “Your”

Consider the audience perspective – how do they describe what you do? What words do they use to explain their problem? What do they experience when they use or have what you sell?

Instagram’s search tool is more and more powerful, and so your Reels need to use those keywords and be about those topics to be found by your customer. Our viewers needs to remember that expert terms or industry terms may not be used by your customer…so if you use terms that are too technical you could miss out on your people.

Another Big Reason Your Reels Aren’t Being Viewed

The other reasons your Reels might not be getting the views. Which could have something to do with presentation. Words matter and speaking to your audience’s problems matters. But you also have to present your reel in a way that your audience gets to see what you’re talking about! And a surefire way of doing that is – including a HOOK.

A HOOK is the word at the very beginning of your video, so it’s the first thing people see when they’re scrolling. It determines whether they are stopping to actually watch your video, or if they’re going to keep scrolling. If you’ve been on our youtube channel before, or read any of our blogs, you have probably heard us talk about hooks before.

We’re not trying to sound like a broken record! However, we are trying to make the point that Hooks, keywords, and messaging are so important in growing your business and reaching your ideal audience!

Hooks can use keywords, and they tell the audience exactly what the video is about. Or they allude to solving a problem or answering a question someone might be thinking about. If you need help with hooks, we have lots of training on it. We will link another video on the screen that goes even deeper into hooks.

Simple Update for a Giant Impact

It can be such a simple update to make a giant impact. For example, instead of saying “This is how I got clients from Instagram” – try, “You CAN get clients from Instagram just by…. ”. Or instead of a Hook that says, “We have this brand new clothing line!” you can reword that and still use the concept but say, “Are you tired of having NOTHING to wear?” See what I did there?

By switching the perspective, you invite your audience in.

The Reels that make your ideal client go, “OH my gosh, you totally GET me!” If you master this strategy your Reels will become saveable and shareable. If they watch a Reel and feel like they understand it to their core, they’ll engage. That’s where you find the major growth.

Are Reels Really Worth It?

Why should you care this much about Reels? Because we know your time is precious, and we want to see real results for your efforts.

Reels are still the most popular and well-placed kind of content on Instagram. And by changing the viewpoint of your hooks, scripts, and descriptions to center your audience as the main character – you’re making them feel seen and connected. With consistency, you will get more views, and more customers!

So if you found this insightful and if you want to keep improving your Reels and growing your online business, we have the perfect next step. It’s a free guide for business owners looking to increase sales, followers, and their reach on Instagram using Reels.
