Ryan Reynolds Joins TikTok, Guarantees to Disappoint All His Followers

With his usual charm, Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds jumped into the world of Tiktok. The social media network, driven by short video posts, seems ideally suited for Reynolds’ Snark, as does the numerous ads he regularly tweets for companies like Mint Mobile and Aviation Gin, both of which have Reynolds as an investor. For his part, however, the actor is not convinced that TikTok is for him. And he’s trying to prove it by starting the musical styling of all-4-ones “I Swear,” one of the biggest songs of 1994 – before many of the biggest names were born on TikTok.

Along with the song, he said, “I swear you will be disappointed with this report.” We’re assuming the comment is meant to reflect the content it wants to post, rather than a slam on All-4-One.

Aside from Reynolds’ self-deprecating humor, fans are excited to see him on the new social network that has overtaken its bigger competitors in terms of new users and virality for about a year now.

Yesterday Reynolds and Mint Mobile got themselves noticed by using Bobby Bonilla Day as an opportunity to sell. Bonilla, a retired baseball all-star, has deferred a significant portion of his salary to be paid out in annual installments over 25 years. Bonilla’s groundbreaking deal was actually part of a buyout from the New York Mets, and the two sides agreed on a deal that would pay him around $ 1.2 million at 8% interest for 25 years. He’s not the only player to receive a deferred payment after retirement, but it is one of the biggest, most lucrative deals of its kind, and it’s not even the only one for Bonilla as he has another deferred contract payment from the Mets and Orioles that makes him $ 500,000 a year. It started in 2004 and has continued for 25 years.

Reynolds yesterday made a similar offer as a one-day deal that would have allowed fans to pay $ 100 a year for 25 years to have Mint Mobile wireless coverage the entire time.

Reynolds’ next project is Free Guy, a film in which he plays a non-gamer character in a video game who suddenly gains consciousness and realizes that the world around him is something very strange. It hits theaters on August 12th.
