Ought to I Use Linktree on Instagram™? Including A number of Hyperlinks to Your IG Bio

Do you use Linktree on Instagram ™ to have multiple links on your bio? Or are you debating whether you should have more than one place to send people to?

Everyone has unique goals that propel their business forward and keep them energized. However, all companies have one thing in common: They want to get a lot of people to their website.

In this week’s blog post, I’ll break down the best practices for using Linktree on Instagram ™. Also, you’ll discover the top Linktree mistake to avoid.

In this blog post:

What is Linktree?

Simply put, Linktree is a tool that allows you to host multiple links on your Instagram ™ bio. Instead of updating your bio link every time you publish a new blog post or start a promotion, you can update your Linktree landing page with just a few clicks.

Trying to remember to update your bio link every time you post new Instagram ™ content probably isn’t high on your to-do list. This is why Linktree can be so helpful.

It’s a win-win for busy business owners: you can direct people to multiple pieces of content and not have to update your Instagram ™ bio on a daily basis.

When to use Linktree for your Instagram ™ bio

When should you use Linktree? Bottom line: Linktree is a great tool except when you’re doing a promotion or sale.

Otherwise, you should feel empowered to use Linktree as a focal point for your bio. Think of this as a one-stop shop for your best resources and content.

This is the content your ideal Instagram ™ followers are looking for. Whether it’s your evergreen offering or the content that drives the most traffic to your website.

When not to use Linktree for your Instagram ™ bio

Linktree can of course be a helpful tool in attracting more people to your website. However, there are cases when Linktree probably isn’t the best option for your bio.

For example, if you’re doing a promotion, a Linktree link might not be the best option. After all, you are trying to get people to your great, limited publicity. Using a Linktree landing page with multiple links can confuse people.

Use a link instead. Then there is no doubt what to ask of your Instagram ™ followers.

How to create Linktree links

You have probably suspected that using the title of your content when creating your Linktree links is not enough … and you are right! Think of the Linktree link as the subject line of an email or the title of a blog post.

Still don’t know what this means for your Linktree links? Focus on the value people will find when they click on your links. Please note the following:

  • Is your Linktree link telling someone why they should click on it?
  • Does your Linktree link describe the landing page?
  • Avoid telling people what to do (e.g., “read my blog post”).

Examples of companies that drive more traffic with Linktree

Now that you know how to use Linktree and the mistakes to avoid, let’s take a look at some of the companies and brands that are using Linktree effectively.

@ GrandRapidsBrides

First, Grand Rapids brides. As a bridal shop that specializes in everything people need to create the wedding of their dreams, they certainly have a ton of content to drive people to.

But despite having a lot of bridal content, Grand Rapids Brides has their branding on their Linktree landing page and in their link descriptions. Also, they use small graphics as a little touch to connect their bridal aesthetic.

@ Top4Running.Es

Another Instagram ™ account that Linktree effectively uses is Top 4 Running Españon. If you have a ton of products available you need to check out their page.

Despite a lot of inventory, this company has organized their shoes to lead people to specific promotions and offers.

@GingerStarrBorden

Next is ginger, a Ready, Set, Gram student, and visibility coach who helps women entrepreneurs stand out. Ginger’s Linktree page is a great example of the best ways to incorporate your branded colors.

Ginger Starr Borden's Linktree landing page shows links in blue boxes and a photo of Ginger in a circle above.

Ginger takes a little detail, like the colors in her Instagram Stories Highlights, and carries it through her Linktree landing page. Also, your first link has a strong subject line. I just can not get enough!

@NextKumarsingh

To top off the Linktree examples, take a look at Avanti Kumarsingh. Do you remember when I said you need to think about the best content to get your Instagram ™ followers’ attention?

Avanti Kumarsingh's Linktree landing page has a light brown background with a link box highlighted in a darker shade of brown.

For Avanti, this means that there are only four links on their Linktree page. Since there are limited link options, it will be much easier for them to lead people to their content. Your followers never have to guess what Avanti wants them to click.

Linktree last tip

With Linktree, you can share multiple links and generate more traffic for your business. But before you get started building your own Linktree page, here’s my final tip.

Always check your Linktree links. I can’t tell you the number of times I clicked someone else’s Linktree link and it’s either dead or not the right offer. You only have one chance to grab people’s attention. Don’t waste it on the wrong link.
