Nashville Server Posts Stunning One Cent Paychecks On TikTok

A 25-year-old service worker posted a disturbing video on TikTok about her earnings at a Nashville restaurant.

On October 8th, Liny shared a look at her checks for six weeks. She earned a penny. Yes, ONE cent.

“The life of a server. Tip your servers, ”she wrote. Liny also didn’t reveal how much she made in tips. Still, she had a lot to say about the offensive wages.

Although this was a service job, her social media account says she is an aesthetician. The video, which received over 110,000 views and nearly 10,000 likes, had mixed reactions.

One person agreed that wages were low, but that restaurants had to pay a salary that was actually livable.

“I always tip, but restaurants have to pay you more.”

“How is that not illegal?” Asked another person.

One TikToker used good old-fashioned common sense and said, “You don’t all tell it isn’t my job to tip,” and then gets mad when all the restaurants are understaffed. “

Other TikTokers overheard Leline’s alleged game.

TikTokers, who worked in the food service industry, told Liny she wasn’t telling the whole truth.

Under Tennessee law if server deserve a certain amount of tips, hourly wages are eaten in taxes or the employee has earned more than the minimum that the employer has to pay.
