Man insulted Joel Osteen on TikTok. He mentioned he was fired days later.

He was fired from his job just days after a TikTok user posted a 16-second video earlier this week in which he made an offensive comment to popular television evangelist Joel Osteen.

In the video, a man named Nick, who seems to have met Osteen, pulls him in front of the camera long enough to tell the pastor, “Hey man, you know you s-, right?”

Osteen laughs and walks away. Nick, who has the username Nick & Soph, smiles and looks into the camera: “He knows.”

The video went viral, grabbing 6.5 million views on the platform and tons of comments from a mix of people who found the interaction offensive or funny. Some offered the man to buy a beer.

Days later, Nick posted another video to thank his viewers and express his surprise that the video exploded.

“And with all that attention, I got fired this morning,” said Nick. “So if someone wants to buy me the beer, now would be a good time.”

Nick, who didn’t mention his last name, didn’t say where he worked either and dismissed questions about his employer in the video’s comment thread.

“It wasn’t my employer’s fault,” Nick wrote in response to a question. “Some outside forces came into play, if you know what I mean.”

Nick’s video comes a. Week after a plumber found envelopes of money in a wall at Osteens Lakewood Church in Houston. Police believe the case is linked to an incident in 2014 when someone reportedly withdrew checks and US $ 600,000 in cash from a church safe.

Critics of Osteen on TikTok took to the platform with conspiracy theories about the disappearance of the money.

Others have defended him.

“Joel Osteen and his family have done so much for the Houston community,” one person said on TikTok. “Sorry for the people who knocked him off for his proprietary beliefs and wealth.”
