Kansas trainer asks children to be in marriage ceremony on TikTok

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) – Students squealed with glee when their newly engaged teacher in Kansas urged them to attend their wedding on a TikTok video with more than 10 million views.

The Wichita Eagle reports that Alexandra Stamps posed the question to her class of fifth graders at McLean Science and Technology Magnet Elementary School in Wichita this week when Kina Grannis’ cover of the Elvis Presley ballad “Can’t Help Falling in Love” the background played along.

When the camera turns on their junior bridesmaids and groomsmen, they jump for joy. Some of her 19 students even sob.

“I want you to be with me because you are my biggest fans,” she told the newspaper in an interview on Wednesday.

Her fiancé, Mason McDowell, also invites his class of 18 third graders to a part of their bridal shower during their July wedding.

The 23-year-olds met at a job fair in March last year and competed for the same apprenticeship that McDowell eventually got.

“We spend over 40 hours a week with them and we both love our students so much. And so I thought it would be fun to include her in the celebrations instead of just having her in the audience. “
