Jesus Morales: Man makes use of TikTok to lift greater than $90Okay for road distributors in Southern California

LOS ANGELES – A 24-year-old man didn’t let the pandemic stop him from giving back to others.

Jesus Morales’ TikTok viral videos moved people to tears and made him donate thousands of dollars to many street vendors in Southern California.

Morales worked in a gym but was on leave at the beginning of the pandemic.

He found a way to raise tens of thousands of dollars on TikTok – not for himself but for people who make a living as street vendors.

“We have given over $ 90,000 direct to street vendors in San Diego and Los Angeles,” he said.

Millions have watched the heartfelt interactions and felt compelled to interfere – allowing many people to donate $ 1,000.

Some of the recipients are moved to tears in disbelief while others humbly attempt to offer something in return or swear to pay it forward.

Morales says he was inspired by other creators doing the same type of work.

He says the safety of street vendors is a priority.

“I would hate it if a street vendor was targeted for one of my videos,” he said.

“I’ve never been a huge fan of seeing people push cameras in other people’s faces,” he adds.

Morales says he is paid through TikTok sponsorships and sells his own goods.

Street vendors are experiencing many difficulties, especially during the pandemic. From harassment to verbal and physical attacks, and street vendors are also cited as the new licensing system in Los Angeles.

People like Morales use their platforms to raise awareness, and nonprofits are committed to lasting change.

“When I see street vendors personally, it has a connection to me because I know that most of them are immigrants,” Morales said. “And they come in day after day just trying to make it here in the United States.”
