WASHINGTON – An Illinois man is now charged in connection with the riot at the Capitol after a TikTok video showing him fighting against National Guard officials.

Mathew Capsel was charged with knowingly entering or staying in a restricted area and defying officials.

Witnesses told federal authorities that Capsel was known to be violent and was in the Capitol during the January 6 riot.

The video posted on TikTok by a third party shows him attacking a number of national guardsmen.

Earlier this month, Kevin Lyons, a Chicago man, was charged by the federal government after the FBI issued a search warrant relating to the siege.

Lyons was accused of illegally entering Spokeswoman Nancy Pelosi’s office.

His social media posts show that he was a supporter of President Donald Trump, who spoke of “bringing the fight to Antifa” beforehand.
