How you can quick ahead on TikTok — skip all of the stale elements with ease

“How to fast forward on TikTok” is a popular question among TikTok users who don’t have enough patience to sit through videos that don’t get straight to the point. On top of that, TikTok videos are getting longer and longer, which makes it more and more difficult for users with “ants in their pants” to sit through them.

Thankfully, there is a way to flip through all of the boring, stale, and uninformative parts of TikTok videos and get to “Meat and Potatoes”. However, not everyone has the function yet. Some users report that it only works on a few videos (the longer ones) while others say they don’t have the feature at all.

That being said, we’ll show you how to fast-forward on TikTok so you can see if you’re one of the select few who have access to the feature.

We’ve all been through this. Maybe you watched a TikTok dance and wanted to repeat a cool move. Or you were blinded by a cooking video and missed part of the recipe. In either case, you will have to play the video again from start to finish.

You don’t have to waste precious seconds and minutes of your life before getting to the part you want to watch again. You can just fast forward.

1. After landing on a TikTok video, see if a small white dot appears in the gray line below.

2. If you see a white point, it means that it is fast forward. Tap the point and drag it to the right. A large timestamp will appear to let you know how far you’ve skipped.

3. Let go of the white dot and voila, you have moved on.

You can also rewind. All you have to do is drag the white point to the left. If you don’t have fast forward, you can download the video as a workaround. To do this, tap on the share button (the arrow symbol) and select “Save video”.

Remember, this is a testing feature so don’t worry if you don’t have it. If the testing period goes well, there’s a good chance TikTok will extend the fast-forward benefit to all users and all videos.
