[Church of England] What began as a fun way to keep up with seven teenagers in your ward is now a serious connection with Rev. Anne Beverley of Christ Church in Wesham, England.

When the coronavirus pandemic broke out, the initial lockdown brought with it a need to keep in touch with the teenagers in her community, so Beverley filmed on the TikTok social media platform – but she didn’t expect what would develop .

In three days, her video on her TikTok account @ChristChurchWesham was seen not only by the seven local teenagers but by 1.7 million people around the world.

“We just sat at home and watched the numbers go up every time we refreshed our phones,” said Beverley. “It was ridiculous.”
