Find out how to get the 3D photograph impact on TikTok
TikTok found a new way to transform yourself into the main character using a 3D photo effect cut into music, and it’s going viral.
The short video app has become a go-to place to find a variety of fun effects and filters. Often they are suitable for viral trends or challenges.
Millions of users of the app take part in one where they cut multiple images together to the title PHONKY TOWN by Playaphonk and add an incredible 3D effect that makes it look ten times cooler.
Videos participating in the trend can be found by browsing hashtags on the app. Currently # 3dphotoeffect has almost 3 million views.

You zoom in on the person or people in the foreground while you pull out the background to make it look like you are in a three-dimensional photo.
Unfortunately, this is not an effect available through a filter in TikTok and it will take some processing time for the effect to be perfect.
How to do the 3D photo trend:
- Download the CapCut editing app
- Open the app and import 11 images into your timeline. Tap on Edit
- Tap Style and then choose 3D Zoom for each image
- Make sure the first four photos are set to 0.5 seconds and the last 7 photos are set to 0.3 seconds to make sure they match the viral sound.
- Save in the gallery
- Post on TikTok next to the sound PHONKY TOWN by Playaphonk
Of course, you don’t have to use that particular track alongside your video, and you don’t even have to use selfies. Some people have played around with other images, such as celebrities, cars, their pets, or even cartoon characters.
It is important to note that if your images are static using this method, your images will not look the same as the effect works over the video format.
