Fb whistleblower reveals ‘self-regulation is just not working’ for social media, White Home says

A whistleblower’s claim that Facebook FB puts -4.89% profits before security is the latest revelation that “self-regulation doesn’t work” for social media platforms, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday. On Sunday, “60 Minutes” interviewed former Facebook data scientist Frances Haugen, who claims the company has deceived investors about how it deals with hate speech and misinformation on its platform. Facebook shares fell up to 6% on Monday. Psaki said the government of Biden would support the social media reforms proposed by Congress.
