Fb Joins Open Net Docs as Lead Funder

Facebook is pleased to announce that it is sponsoring Open Web Docs as the main funder and member of the management committee. As a leading user and contributor to web-based technologies and browsers, Facebook understands the importance of quality documentation to the education and productivity of developers.

“Open Web Docs and Facebook will work together to ensure that developer documentation remains high quality, share content opportunities with other frameworks, and present an even wider range of browsers that conform to the technologies documented by MDN,” said Joel Marcey, ecosystem leader of Facebook’s open source developer advocacy team and member of the Open Web Docs Governing Committee.

Facebook will also join the Steering Committee, where it will propose potential projects for its joint roadmaps and, if agreed, execute those plans to ensure that Open Web Docs is working on the projects with the greatest impact for web developers by adding quality documentation to the Release of new JavaScript functions, the PWA Developer’s Guide is completed to introduce the documentation for new XR-based web technologies.
