Ex-Pilgrim’s Exec Tampered With Witness In Hen Case, DOJ Says
The Justice Department amended its price-fixing charges against a former Pilgrim’s Pride general manager, claiming he attempted to obstruct a grand jury investigation and tamper with a witness.
The DOJ’s antitrust division sued the executive, Timothy Stiller, and three other former Pilgrim executives in a criminal complaint filed July 2021 in the US District Court for the District of Colorado. The lawsuit alleged that they conspired to suppress competition, rig bids and fix prices for broiler chicken.
The DOJ’s superseding indictment, filed Tuesday, added two charges of witness tampering and one charge of obstruction against Stiller.
