Dear Chanel Introduction calendar ripped on TikTok: ‘I am completed’

Gregg Smith, founder of Evolution VC Partners, argues that the “lackluster performance” on Black Friday shouldn’t set the scene for the Christmas shopping season as consumers “are spending like crazy”.

Chanel’s expensive advent calendar was heavily criticized on social media by some disappointed customers.

The $ 825 box in the shape of a giant Chanel No 5 Eau De Parfum bottle hides surprises like stickers, a magnet, a flip book, and an empty dust bag. The few beauty products inside, including two red lipsticks, perfume, and body lotion, are sample size.

The popular video sharing app TikTok exploded with users shouting Chanel.

One user, @eliseharmon, began the criticism with a public disclosure of her account, which drew reactions from other TikTok users.

“Chanel has just blocked me,” she announced to her followers on Thursday in a video. “You blocked me! What is not clicking, Chanel?

After opening box no. 18 and revealing more stickers, the TikToker reacted in frustration: “I’m done.”

Other luxury brands have curated their own advent calendars, including Dior, whose product retails for $ 550 and includes all sample sizes of makeup, skin care and various beauty products. Chanel’s calendar is sold out online.
