To make sure black creators are heard, TikTok has just launched a brand new incubator program designed to support black creators.

What is “TikTok for Black Creatives”?

On Wednesday (January 13th), TikTok launched a brand new initiative to support black creators in the app.

‘TikTok for Black Creatives’ is a three month program that enables 100 black creators and music artists from around the world to develop their talent and turn their love of content creation into a career.

As reported by CNN, TikTok said, “Black creators at TikTok have been a driving force behind our community, from trending to connecting to creating new ways to entertain and inspire others, and we are determined to do theirs Opportunities to further improve and expand voices. ”

The program includes town halls featuring black entrepreneurs and celebrities, community-building forums, educational events, and grants for some creators in partnership with Macro, a media company that represents the black voices.

How to apply for TikTok’s Black Creator Initiative

If you want to be part of ‘TikTok for Black Creatives’ all you have to do is apply online.

First, you need to create a video up to 60 seconds long that embodies you as a TikTok developer – it can be anything that highlights your creativity. Then you can fill out your application here.

All applications are rated and then 100 creators are selected to join the program. The winners will attend six virtual mentoring sessions at the end of February.

When do you have to apply before?

TikTok gave Black Creators just two weeks to apply for the initiative. All applications must be received by January 27th.
