Facebook Expands Creator Fast Track to Brazil With Lower Payouts
Facebook has expanded its Creator Fast Track program to Brazil, offering eligible creators with at least 20,000 followers on external platforms a guaranteed payment to post original Reels. According to Meta, the payouts are significantly lower than in the U.S. and Canada, testing whether a small incentive can overcome the friction of adopting a new publishing destination.
Facebook’s expansion into Brazil, which the company announced this week, requires creators to have at least 20,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube and 30,000 video views on those platforms in the previous 30 days, according to program guidelines cited by Yahoo Finance. The program is restricted to creators who have not posted a Reel to their Facebook Page in the past six months, and accepted participants must publish 20 original Reels per 30-day period for three months, spread across separate days, the guidelines state. Content can be reposted from other apps if it has not already appeared on their Facebook Page.
The amounts are sharply lower than the U.S. and Canada version, where creators with up to 100,000 followers receive $450 per month and those with one million or more receive $3,000 per month, according to wersm.
Payments are tied to the creator’s highest follower count on one eligible external platform, not to video performance, according to wersm. Brazilian creators with up to 100,000 followers will receive $25 per 30-day period, with a maximum total of $75 over the three-month commitment. Those with one million or more followers will receive $300 per 30-day period, with a maximum total of $900, according to Yahoo Finance.
Meta has said the lower payouts are a test of whether a small guaranteed payment can overcome the friction of adding another publishing destination.
Meta officials said Facebook video watch time rose by more than 8% globally in the first quarter of 2026, its largest quarter-over-quarter engagement gain in four years, according to Yahoo Finance. The company launched the Creator Fast Track program in the U.S. and Canada in March.
The program aims to entice established creators to Facebook by offering a guaranteed payment for exclusive content, hoping they will remain on the platform after discovering the value of the Facebook audience, according to Yahoo Finance. At the lower amounts, the money is unlikely to be a significant lure for Brazilian creators, who often earn more from monetization on other apps, the report noted.
The Brazilian expansion follows Meta’s broader push to increase short-form video engagement on Facebook, which has historically trailed Instagram and TikTok in creator adoption. The company has invested in its Reels product and payment infrastructure to attract creators who have built audiences elsewhere.
Meta has not announced a timeline for expanding the program to other countries or whether it will adjust payment rates based on regional economic factors. The company said it will evaluate the program’s performance in Brazil before making further decisions, according to officials.
