A tearful UberEats driver affected by homelessness posted an emotional video to TikTok asking customers to think about tips for drivers.
Riley Elliott, an UberEats driver in the US, said he was risking his life in his job every day during the pandemic but was barely making enough money to make ends meet.

The footage has gone viral since its release last week and has garnered 17,000 followers and loads of support for the driver.
“I wish the people who order UberEats or Doordash understood what it’s like to be a driver,” he says as he sits in his car.
He explains that he paid $ 3.15 for a 45 minute delivery job – and had to pay to park if the customer didn’t come outside to meet him.
“I have to prove three times the rent for income in two weeks and I can’t,” he said.
“It doesn’t matter that I have multiple jobs, that I hardly sleep, that I can hardly afford to feed myself.

“I am homeless for the third time since May and all because people don’t tip their deliverers.
“I am risking my life in a pandemic and nobody cares.
“How hard is it to throw us five dollars?”
Since he filled the post, Elliott has been inundated with donations that have helped him move into a new home.
He has posted a number of follow-up videos thanking people for their generosity.
‘That’s crazy’
He said he received thousands of dollars and is now using some of the money to help others, including the homeless in his area.
“I mean, this is crazy,” he says in a video.
“Thank you, really thank you!
“We will be able to help so many people.”
In another video, he goes to Costco to buy blankets to give to people who have slept badly on the street.
“People from all over the world have generously donated more than we needed to be okay,” he says.
“It has always been my lifelong dream to help others, but until now I have never been in a financial position to do much.”
