Why TikTok star Dixie D’Amelio has deleted her Twitter account
2021 is not the best start for TikTok star Dixie D’Amelio. After a spit of online hatred, she shocked fans on January 8th when she tweeted “Goodbye Twitter … it was fun”. After that, her account was no longer on the social media platform.
But her timing made fans wonder if her decision was related to Donald Trump’s suspension from Twitter.
Dixie, who is known for her viral TikTok dances and is a big sister to Charli D’Amelio, later went on Instagram to close down those claims. “I don’t support Trump,” she said in her story, “my timing was just awful, lol.”
Backing up her claim that she is over the online hatred, Dixie added, “I’ve said it 100 times … the reason I deleted Twitter was because I spend way too much time trying to hate read.”
Dixie D’Amelio defended her decision for her Insta Story.

Dixie and her little sister Charli are very knowledgeable about online trolling and have both been scrutinized since they became famous. In December, Dixie had to delete a teaser for her new song One Whole Day after a wave of criticism.
Despite the haters, the sisters have a combined fan base of more than 150 million on TikTok, with their posts having more than 10 million likes.
And the influencers are facing more success with their own reality TV show coming to screens later this year. The D’Amelio Show is an eight-part, non-written documentary series that is supposed to be the new Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

The show offers an insight into the life of the D’Amelio’s. The family is hoping to show a page you don’t see on TikTok.
In a statement, Papa Mark D’Amelio said: “A lot of people make impressions of us based on brief content, a few minutes or even seconds. But now we look forward to sharing a page you probably won’t see on our social channels. “
