TikTok video goes viral with story of a Shreveport man
SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL / KMSS) – An experience with a Lyft driver shows the power of social media and how it can bring people together for good, especially during times like these.
It all started with a video on TikTok.
David Daniels gave his followers Ed details of a ride on his trailer Ed.
“The things I complained about seemed so minor that he walked 10, 11 miles a day and worked the night shift at a gas station and couldn’t be happier doing it. It just encouraged me. “
Ed’s story about TikTok caught the attention of thousands of people.
“The response was incredible. Not just to see the love people have for someone they don’t even know. “
Daniels created a GoFundMe page to help Ed get a car and she exceeded her goal within 18 hours. So he called his friend Beau Witkowski at SBC Cars in Bossier City.
“So when I picked up the phone at 9 am and they immediately said yes, I was already thinking of a car. Let’s do this.”
For Ed’s dedication and hard work on Monday, they’ll give him a car, six months of auto insurance, and a gift card for gasoline.
Ed has a six year old son so they came up with the idea of collecting toys to make sure he had a Merry Christmas. You can drop off toys at Regional Homes at 3500 E Texas Street in Bossier City.
