Saying upcoming help for user_friends, user_birthday and user_age_range in Restricted Login
Today we announce that we will be actively working on adding user_friends, user_birthday and user_age_range to Limited Login in spring 2021. Limited login is based on the OpenID Connect standard and when using this restricted version of Facebook login on the fact that a person The Facebook login used with this iOS app is not used to personalize or measure advertising effectiveness.
With restricted login, users can currently create new accounts or access existing accounts in your app while only sharing their name, profile picture, and (optionally) email address. Since launch, we’ve listened to feedback from our valued developer community and recognized the need for additional permissions that enable more personalized and social experiences.
Limited Login is a key member of the FB Identity product portfolio. As such, we will continue to invest in the company and expand the features and permissions we provide to ensure we serve developers and users to the best of our ability.
Update your Facebook iOS SDK or Facebook SDK for Unity to version 9.0+ to implement the latest version of Limited Login, which supports name, profile picture and email. We will provide a future update with information about the SDK version that supports user_friends, user_birthday, and user_age_range as they become available.
