‘Pathetic’ TikTok Covidiot taunts Chris Whitty on the road chanting ‘you are a liar’
A “pathetic” TikTok user filmed himself cursing the Chief Medical Officer for England on the street.
In a video that circulated widely on the app, the man approaches Chris Whitty in a London market and calls him a “great man”.
While the epidemiologist puts on a face mask, the man pushes the camera in his face and says “You are a liar”.
Whitty stands quietly looking past the member of the public who urge him on and accuse him of “lying about the Covid-19 cases, man, stop lying to the television, man”.
At some point the mocking Covidiot points the camera at his face before calling Prof. Whitty a “liar” again.
After the confrontation at Strutton Ground Market in Westminster, the man uploaded the footage to TikTok.

Since then, he has been widely sentenced for molesting the smartly dressed government official who appears to be on a break from work.
Matt Vickers, Conservative MP for Stockton South, led the criticism while sharing the video.
“That’s horrific, I really can’t believe this footage,” he wrote.
“Chris Whitty is doing everything he can to guide us through this crisis and should never be subjected to this abuse.”
Health Secretary Matt Hancock told BBC Breakfast: “I think the person concerned is pathetic. I think what he’s doing is ridiculous.
“Chris Whitty is one of our greatest living scientists, and his advice to the government, and his advice to all of us in the community, has been incredibly smart and thoughtful.
“He is a great asset to this nation. The idea that someone would do something so stupid is ridiculous. “
Mr. Hancock said “I kind of expect it” because he is a politician even though he doesn’t like it, but Prof. Whitty hadn’t “joined” the political debate.
The public quickly came to the defense of Prof. Whitty, a world-renowned epidemiologist who flanked Boris Johnson during the press briefing on Downing Street during the pandemic.
One woman slammed the TikTok user and wrote, “He’s literally accomplished more than ever before in your life. Show some respect.”
Another wrote: “I don’t like Chris Whitty or his part in locking up the UK and ignoring what is happening to education, mental illness, cancer referrals, etc, but that’s terrible.”
“Unfortunately, more than anything, it’s a reflection on the TikTok generation.”
In addition to advising the government, Prof. Whitty is also a practicing NHS advisor at University Hospitals (UCLH) and the Tropical Disease Hospital.
He spent Christmas Day treating Covid patients at UCLH in north London.
The TikTok user’s claim that the doctor is lying about Covid is false.
Since Covid-19 came to the UK, more than 100,000 people have been killed by the disease and many thousands more are struggling with Long Covid.
