If you don’t specify action_attribution_windows when getting the results, we’ll default to 7d_click and 1d_view instead of 28d_click and 1d_view.

The use_account_attribution_setting field is ignored as we are replacing the account-level setting with a new attribution setting that can be set at the ad set level during ad creation. Below are details of two new fields related to attribution settings that can be used: use_unified_attribution_setting and attribution_setting.

If Apple forces the AppTrackingTransparency prompt, the default will be updated to 7d_click only due to restrictions on the look-through signal.

New field use_unified_attribution_setting:

This field can be used in GET and POST requests to / adcampaigngroup / views, / adcampaign / views, / adgroup / detects, and / adaccount / views.

If you set use_unified_attribution_setting to true, the attribution_setting of the queried ad objects is used for the assignment of the conversion metric and the campaign optimization of your query – a single period of time in which conversion ads are credited and used for information about the campaign optimization.

When use_unified_attribution_setting is set to true we will:

  • Conversion metric values cannot be aggregated across different attribution settings.

New field attribution_setting:

This field can be used in GET and POST requests to / adcampaigngroup / views, / adcampaign / views, / adgroup / detects, and / adaccount / views. This field indicates which attribution setting is used by a conversion metric. The attribution setting is set at the ad set level during ad creation and ensures that the conversions our system optimizes are the same as those you want to measure.

When querying ad objects that use mixed or SKAdNetwork-dependent settings, attribution_setting returns:

  • Mixed: Indicates when a campaign or account contains ad sets with multiple attribution settings
  • skan: Indicates when the SKAdNetwork mapping setting is used for iOS 14 app installation campaigns
  • na: Indicates when no ad is posted for a campaign or account

atribution_setting only returns values if use_unified_attribution_setting is true, otherwise the response does not return attribution_setting.
