Lingerie mannequin helps ladies discover the best bra slot in TikTok tutorial

If you’re wondering what Victoria’s Secret really is, you might not be wearing the right size bra.

With much of the world returning to work, school, and social gatherings after months of lockdown, many who have taken off their bras are finding that the fit is no longer what it used to be. While some have opted for wireless bras – or banned the whole concept like Gillian Anderson from their lives – other women are on the lookout for the perfect fit.

Lingerie model Madison Alexandra has posted TikTok videos all about bras and in a now viral TikTok video released in April, Alexandra models how a bra is supposed to fit those who might forget about it. As part of a series she calls “Bra School”, she emphasized that women can have different breast shapes and still have the same bra size because every body is unique and tissue can be distributed differently.

The model also explained the common misconceptions and the ways bras shouldn’t fit depending on the shape of your breasts.

Gaps when there is more cup space and spills when excess tissue comes out of the top of the bra are common problems for bra straps.

Gaps can appear at the bottom of the cups, as shown in Alexandra’s TikTok, as well as at the top of the cups or sternum where the wires meet. Spillage can happen to the top or sides of the cups and can sometimes cause the wire to sit on the breast tissue, which can damage it.

Alexandra also promoted a Reddit thread that first featured the DIY calculator which promises to ensure the perfect fit.

As a certified bra fitting expert from my time in retail, this author agrees with this message. Breasts and breasts come in different shapes and sizes, and no two sets are alike, which can make it difficult for women to find their goldilocks to match – sometimes you have to try a few before you get it right.
