TikTok doesn’t really come with a watch history function. It was designed to make the memes come hard and fast. Why backtrack when there are so many new videos to slide through?

Here’s how to find a lost TikTok video. A method can be executed entirely within the app; the other, while taking some time, may be ideal for users who want to see their entire TikTok history in the form of a data request.

Here’s how to find a TikTok video you’ve watched

Finding TikTok videos that you’ve already seen is easy. All you have to do is use a simple search filter.

  1. Go to Discover Tab.
  2. Press the seek Icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Enter your request.
  4. Press seek.
  5. Tap the filter Icon on the right side of the search bar.
  6. Switch Videos watched.
  7. Press Apply.

Any videos in your watch history that match your keyword or group of keywords will appear at the top of the list, followed by your search results as they normally appear.

Not only can TikTok filters be used to filter search results based on watch history – they can also be used by. search Fallen videos or even add a cut-off for the upload date to further narrow your pool.

Now you can easily find anything you accidentally typed.

Here’s how to see your watch history on TikTok

What’s the best way to see all of your TikTok video history? There is no practical function in the app. However, you can request your full TikTok timeline as a personal data request and find the data within.

It will take a few days, but this is the most thorough approach available to you to get a really complete view of your TikTok history.

To request data from TikTok and see your entire TikTok viewing history, you can follow this simple data request process:

  1. Go to profile Tab.
  2. Press the three line Settings and data protection Hamburger menu in the top right corner.
  3. Choose privacy.
  4. Beat Download your data.
  5. Choose either a TXT File or a JSON File.
  6. Tap the Request data Button down.

As soon as you have done this, you can view your pending data request in the neighboring Download data Tab available at the top of this page.

In no more than four days, you’ll be able to download everything associated with your account, including your TikTok watch history. After your request is approved, you will need to verify your identity before the zip file is really yours.

Once it’s done, the zip folder should have a file called. contain Video browsing history– Obviously this is what you’re looking for. Everything you’ve seen before is on the platform, perfect for finding something that you remembered from a while ago.

This approach does not provide the most up-to-date insight into your TikTok video history. Still, it’s the best way to remember something truly unforgettable.
