SOUTH COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – A St. Louis mother laid off due to the pandemic took her toddler for an interview – and the resulting TikTok video received more than 1 million likes.

Maggie Mundwiller had her first job interview at a company and was asked to come back for a second interview – but she had no childcare facility.

The company told her she was kid-friendly and invited her to bring her son, Mylo, for an interview.

As a single mom during a pandemic, Mundwiller said there are challenges finding childcare between jobs.

“We don’t have childcare yet and that’s because I’m staying at (Mylo) home, but once I get a job we would have childcare. So if you’re stuck in this transition period and don’t have them, I think a lot of parents are left out, ”said Mundwiller.

She added that her TikTok video sparked conversations about a childcare crisis.

In the video, she dresses Mylo in a neat light blue suit, washes his stroller and even writes him a résumé.

Mylo’s résumé is:

Goal setting: In order not to find a job and to eat all the snacks.

Competencies:

  • Can destroy a clean room in 30 seconds
  • Can take off own diaper
  • Can say about five words that start with “B” or “D”
  • Smell flowers with my teeth
  • Go downstairs while you hold my mother’s hand
  • Can throw a ball
  • Can spot a dog a mile away
  • Experience: March 2020 – Today, None
  • education: Mama & Papa University, GPA 4.0
  • References: Mom and dad

“It was a great experience. What a welcoming corporate culture,” said Mundwiller of the company.

She doesn’t know yet if she got the job.

Mundwiller is also the owner and designer of 314 handicrafts.
