IHC summons report on govt coverage to ban TikTok on Sept 20

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) presented a report on September 20th on the government’s policy to ban TikTok.

In the four-page written order, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah instructed the PTA to seek information from the Prime Minister and the Federal Cabinet about the TikTok ban policy and to report it in court on September 20.

The court order stated that PTA could not provide adequate justification for banning TikTok. PTA’s attorney told the court that the TikTok ban issue has not been brought before the cabinet. He said that TikTok can also be accessed through other technical means.

The court adjourned the hearing to September 20 after the Assistant Attorney General asked for more time to respond.
