Fb Doubles Down On Dismissal Bid In FTC Dispute

By Hailey Konnath (Dec. 1, 2021, 11:08 pm EST) – Facebook Inc. responded Wednesday to efforts by the Federal Trade Commission to keep its latest antitrust lawsuit against the social media giant, arguing that the Monopoly claims of the agency are covered by nothing more than “inappropriate statistics and admitted assumptions in order to disguise conclusive speculations”.

The response letter from Facebook was in response to the FTC’s opposition to their motion to dismiss. Last month, the FTC urged DC federal court to reject the dismissal offer, arguing that the court had already established that the agency had given reasonable assurance that Facebook, which was recently renamed Meta Platforms Inc., was involved in a relevant antitrust market participates ….
