Does the Chilly Stone Man on TikTok Assist Conversion Remedy?

Prominent TikToker are no strangers to overnight success and “rejection”. But what do you think will happen when you give young people the desire to get famous to reach millions of people on a popular social media platform? From racism to insensitivity to tasteless jokes, there are plenty of TikTok users who have tousled the feathers of the app’s user base, and now the Cold Stone guy is being criticized for allegedly supporting homosexual conversion therapy.

Does the Cold Stone guy on TikTok actually support gay conversion therapy?

If you’re not familiar with Dylan Lemay, he became TikTok by showing how he makes Cold Stone cakes and managed to get a sizable number of followers to the platform – around 7.2 million. But its spread on TikTok could soon end as users report that it is an advocate of programs that help “transform” gay people’s sexual orientations.

The human rights campaign describes the practice as “a series of dangerous and discredited practices that falsely claim to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity or expression”.

How did all the anger with Dylan start? It started when he left a comment on the video that said you can’t be Christian and gay at the same time. Dylan wrote, “Wow! I address big issues.”

Social network users read Dylan’s comment as an aid to conversion therapy.

I can’t believe I supported a homophobe.” Another person wrote, “Please stop supporting djlemay2 on TikTok (the guy who makes the ice cream cake videos). He gives credit to this woman for spreading very harmful and homophobic rhetoric. A creator with 7.4 MILLION followers who support homophobia. “

The guy from Cold Stone TikTok eventually broached rumors of his support for conversion therapy for homosexuals.

In a TikTok video, he made it clear that he is in no way homophobic and does not endorse conversion therapy for homosexuals, which the practice calls terrible. He also apologized when his “Wow! Address big issues” comment hurt anyone.

A quick scroll through the comment section of the TikTok video reveals that a lot of people are not interested in Dylan’s apology, even if there were some outliers that stated that it is “impossible” to like the comment section on the platform and people “still” be crazy “even if he were to delete his account completely.

Others also found it oddly coincidental that one of his recent videos contained a cake with “LGBTQ + rights” after apologizing, but the comments section on that video seemed much more to Dylan and many users urged others to do it. “go ahead” and forgive the Cold Stone employee.

So no, the Cold Stone TikTok guy doesn’t seem to support conversion therapy after all, despite the conclusions of some of his followers.

That said, Dylan definitely has some controversial views about how a person’s sexual orientation affects the religion they may or may not follow – which could very well lead to their being “canceled” again in the future.
