Make-up artist and beauty entrepreneur since the 1990s Bobbi Brown shared all of her tried and tested tips for natural looking makeup. Of course, between the founding of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics (now owned by the Estée Lauder Companies) in 1991 and Jones Road in 2020, the landscape of sharing beauty tips and tricks has changed tremendously — we’re looking at you, social Media. Aside from that, Brown is now bringing her makeup words of wisdom to TikTok. In particular, some words of wisdom on nose contouring.
Just like the makeup brands she founded, Brown’s TikToks have resonated with makeup enthusiasts everywhere, especially the one she posted on January 11th. The video was in response to a comment from a user @peaceforourworld, who read: “Contouring my nose has always been a struggle. Please help! I love all of your products and love that you are here.”
Brown’s 29-second video response to the TikTok user was simple: There’s absolutely no need to contour your nose. “Why do you want to contour your nose? I think your natural face is the most beautiful face,” she said. Brown also let TikTok users know that her mom even offered her a nose job when she was younger. “Obviously I didn’t get it,” she admitted proudly.

After sharing her brief childhood anecdote, Brown ends the video with a statement about her approach to beauty. “I want everyone to accept who you are and use makeup to make you feel better. Just give yourself a shine. Stop contouring your nose. You don’t need it,” she exclaims.
Brown’s comments section was flooded with praise for her anti-contouring stance. TikTok user Bre DeShon applauded Brown for her wonderful makeup wisdom by leaving the following comment on her video: “You are an icon! You were one of the ONLY beauty brands to do makeup in my shadow when I was a teenager. Thank you for always being inclusive.”
The positive accolades for Brown’s video even extend beyond her comments section. Several TikTokers have created stitches in response to her video, including TikTok content creator Liv Schreiber. Schreiber made a video (which you can see here) repeating Brown’s sage advice, captioned: “Reminder: You don’t need a tiny TikTok nose. You are perfect just the way you are. Bobbi taught me that!”
